Your privacy is critically important to me. In compliance with the ICO cookie legislation:

  • The Copywriter’s Crucible doesn’t ask you for personal information unless I truly need it. (I can’t stand services that ask you for things like my gender or income level for no apparent reason.)
  • The Copywriter’s Crucible doesn’t share your personal information with anyone except to comply with the law, develop my products, or protect my rights.
  • The Copywriter’s Crucible doesn’t store personal information on my servers unless required for the on-going operation of one of my services.
  • In my blogging products, I aim to make it as simple as possible for you to control what’s visible to the public, seen by search engines, kept private, and permanently deleted.

Below is my privacy policy which incorporates these goals:

Website Visitors

Like most websites, The Copywriter’s Crucible collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. My purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how my visitors use my website.

The Copywriter’s Crucible also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users and for users leaving comments. I only discloses logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below, except that blog commenter IP addresses are visible and disclosed to the administrators of the blog where the comment was left.

Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

Certain visitors to The Copywriter’s Crucible choose to interact in ways that require my website to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that this website gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, I ask visitors who subscribe to my blog to provide a username and email address. This information is collected only as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with The Copywriter’s Crucible. I do not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.

Aggregated Statistics

The Copywriter’s Crucible may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors. For instance, it may monitor the most popular blog articles or use spam screened by the Akismet service to help identify spam. I may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, I do not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.

A cookie is a string of information that my website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. I use cookies to help identify and track visitors, their usage of my website, and their access preferences. Website visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using my website, with the drawback that certain features of The Copywriter’s Crucible may not function properly without the aid of cookies.

Ads appearing on The Copywriter’s Crucible may be delivered to users by advertising partners, who may set cookies. These cookies allow the ad server to recognize my computer each time they send you an online advertisement to compile information about you or others who use your computer. This information allows ad networks to, among other things, deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you. This Privacy Policy covers the use of cookies by The Copywriter’s Crucible and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.

If you click through on advert on this website and make a purchase then I receive commission from the advertiser. Please note I only promote products I either use myself or think will be of benefit to my visitors and readers.

Comments and other content submitted to The Copywriter’s Crucible Akismet anti-spam service are not saved on my servers unless they are marked as false positives, in which case I store them long enough to use them to improve the service to avoid future false positives.

Although most changes are likely to be minor, The Copywriter’s Crucible may change its Privacy Policy from time to time, and in The Copywriter’s Crucible sole discretion. The Copywriter’s Crucible encourages visitors to frequently check this page for any changes to its Privacy Policy.
